INTRODUCTION BASIC ASSIGNMENT TASKS PROCESS AND STEPS EVALUATION CONCLUSION CREDITS PRESENTATIONS

 

STEP 4: Each group will create a 6-7 slide presentation to explain your group's assigned literary theory

 

Your group's Google slide presentation must contain the following:

  1. A title slide to introduce your group's assigned theory and the first names of your group members.  As the presentation will be posted on the web, do NOT use last names.
  2. A brief definition and introduction to your theory
  3. Basic background information regarding your theory, such as: basic history of your theory, why would someone most likely use this approach, and what questions does your approach address.
  4. Pros: Why would someone chose to use this approach? What are the advantages?
  5. Cons: What are the drawbacks of using this approach?
  6. Apply your approach to our reading of Middle Eastern poetry. Each group has been assigned a specific poem from our packet to analyze using their assigned approach. You will find these assignments when you click on the link for your specific group. Write a brief commentary on the poem using the assigned theory. Be sure to use textual evidence to support your commentary.
  7. Credits: Create an works cited slide for the images and works used to prepare your presentation.

 

After you have completed your slide presentation, you will share it to Ms. Ward. Your group should then practice how they will present your slideshow to the class.


STEP 5: Present your PowerPoint to the class

Each group will teach their assigned theory on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 10th. Groups should be sure to review the grading rubric prior to presenting to ensure they understand what their presentations will be graded on.
